TZP-Infomation System Based on Permanent Testing Areas
Project target is creation and folowing operation of complex and flexibile system for information collection in comprehensive research area system related to national and international context. The main meaning of solution is all the time information base creation based on results field investigation. Processed data allow growth trends derivation, the monitoring of health state overgrowth development and the monitoring of growth environment changes, which represent valuable information source for solved forest research analysis. FMI Brandýs nad Labem have taken project TZP since 2004, while field data collection and follow processing has been managed by special dendrometric branch in Pilsen.

Information about state and forest ecosystems development are necessary for correct function of forest managment and are basic building blocks for forest research. It is possible to split this information in two basic categories from formal point of view. First category is representative information is characterizing all republic teritory or accurately defined parts(regions, PLO, etc.) and second category is information characterizing development proceses in forest ecosystems. First information category is particulary intended for operation and planning in forest managment and has to meet properties of statistically representative set. Nowadays the source of data is based on nationwide „National forest inventory of the Czech Republic“, which is only able to bridge property and economic regulation differentiation in forest managment. Second information category is particulary focused on deep knowledge of development proceses in forest ecosystems. These data have not to meet properties of statistically representative set from the point of territorial view. The spectrum of different observed data (timber, age, site conditions, training, etc.) is here main criterion apart from overall research area number. Data collection is in this case usually focused on the system of permanent research areas and research program is usually oriented on the possibility of causal links clarification or at least relationship description in forest ecosystems. Identified relationships or causal links can be generalized by means of mathematical models.
