CLES is a land cover dataset dividing the territory of the Czech Republic into 39 categories. Compiled in cooperation with CzechGlobe – Global Change Research Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (GCRI), with the support from the Integrated LIFE project for Natura 2000 in the Czech Republic, LIFE-IP: N2K Revisited (LIFE17 IPE/CZ/000005). Copyright: © AOPK ČR 2021 / © CzechGlobe 2021, using own data and ZABAGED data (© ČÚZK 2021), Corine Land Cover 2018 (© EEA 2021), Urban Atlas 2018 (© EEA 2021), DIBAVOD (© VÚV TGM 2021), LPIS (© SZIF 2021), ÚHÚL (© ÚHÚL 2021).
The main differences between CLES 2012 and CLES 2021: updated data, application of new source data (ÚHÚL, LPIS, RUIAN), more precise boundaries of the watercourse and commercial forest polygons, removal of insignificant small polygons, the addition of a new category - “Scattered greenery”, extended transport network. CLES 2021 also does not divide watercourses into natural and non-natural, and does not distinguish between urban and non-urban areas.
