Map of the Czech Republic 1 : 500,000

The Map of the Czech Republic 1:500 000 (MČR 500) is a fundamental national map series and is designed as a general geographical map. It covers the entire territory of the Czech Republic on one map sheet. The paper dimensions are 105 × 68.5 cm and the map field dimensions are 99 × 62.5 cm. MČR 500 contains planimetry, elevation points, a geographical grid, descriptions and a map legend. The planimetry includes settlements, road network with fill of motorways, expressways and first-class roads, hydrography, boundaries (state and regional), vegetation and land surface. The terrain relief is represented by elevation points and shaded relief. The description includes standardised nomenclature, elevation values (altitude data), the name and scale of the map with imprint data, graphic scale data, the text of the map legend, frame data and geographical coordinates. The geographical grid is divided at 1° intervals. The content of MČR 500 is also continuously shown on adjacent parts of the territories of neighbouring states.
