Základní topografická mapa České republiky 1 : 5 000 v S-JTSK

The Base Topographic Map of the Czech Republic 1:5 000 in S-JTSK (ZTM 5/S-JTSK) has extended the scale series of the national map series of the Land Survey Office since 2023. ZTM 5/S-JTSK is produced from the Fundamental Base of Geographic Data of the Czech Republic (ZABAGED®), the Digital Terrain Model of the Czech Republic, 5th Generation (DMR 5G), the Database of Geographic Names of the Czech Republic Geonames and the cartographic database Data10. The data are processed in the cartographic database ZTM 5 of the IS SMD technological line. For the purposes of the printed version of the map, print files are created with the complete content of the map sheet in PDF format in CMYK colours. Compared to the digital version of the product, the PDF print file additionally contains coordinate grids (S-JTSK one-kilometre map grid, ETRS89/TMzn geographical grid and one-kilometre map grid), a map frame with frame data (e.g. directional data for selected roads, names of settlements divided between cadastre units, descriptions of neighbouring states, coordinates) and non-frame data (e.g. map legend, imprint data, graphical, numerical and slope diagram, graphical representations of the overview of administrative and cadastral boundaries and boundaries of protected areas). The map field is further extended by an overlap strip of 100 metres to the east and west and 50 metres to the north and south. ZTM 5/S-JTSK contains planimetry, altimetry and descriptions. The planimetry includes settlements and individual objects, roads, hydrography, boundaries of administrative units and cadastre units, boundaries of protected areas, geodetic control points, vegetation and land surface. The altimetry includes terrain relief shown by contour lines and terrain steps. The map description consists of feature type designations, standardised geographical nomenclature (including street names), contour line elevations, points with given elevation and building numbers. Only features occurring within the territory of the Czech Republic are shown. Necessary generalization and displacement of individual objects are used very sparingly. The map thus provides detailed information about the defined area with high positional accuracy, preserving the shape and dimensions of the depicted areal topographic objects as in the source databases.
