Pollutants with air quality limits set for the protection of ecosystems and vegetation: SO₂_rp_5l: SO₂ – annual average concentration [µg·m⁻³], SO₂_zp_5l: SO₂ – average concentration for the winter period (1.10.–31.3.) [µg·m⁻³], NOₓ_rp_5l: NOₓ – annual average concentration [µg·m⁻³].
Surface maps (in a 1x1 km grid) of five-year average concentrations of pollutants with air quality limits for annual average concentrations are calculated in GIS from surface maps for individual years. The maps are not constructed from the calculated average of annual average concentrations at individual stations for the previous five years, primarily because not every year do all stations have enough valid measurements to calculate the annual average concentration, and also because changes occur in the monitoring station networks over the years.
Additionally, surface maps of five-year average concentrations are provided for the 36th maximum value of the 24-hour average concentration of PM10, the 4th maximum value of the 24-hour average concentration of SO₂, the annual and winter average concentrations of SO₂, and the annual average concentration of NOₓ (these air quality characteristics are not required by the Air Protection Act).
